      EVENT: BBC's Quay House to host University of Salford's Journalism Awards


      If you're Journalism third year or MA student you've done it. Waiting on interviewees to get back to you, mastering new technology and breaking out a sweat trying to reach tight deadlines, journalism is no easy subject. But now you’ve reached the end of your degree and if you’re a first or second year you’re part way there and worked just as hard. So what better way to celebrate than a glitzy and glamourous Journalism Awards?!


      If you haven’t already registered to attend this year’s prestigious black-tie University of Salford Journalism Awards Ceremony, there is
      now even more reason to do so! We are pleased to announce that the BBC’s Quay House at Media City UK has been confirmed at the venue for the stylish event, set to take place on June 18!


      Home to BBC Breakfast and Match of the Day, the prominent venue will be make the awards extra special as, with BBC Radio 5 Live hosting the event, students will get the chance to mingle and network with esteemed industry guests and judges, including those from BBC, ITV, and notable national newspapers and websites.


      The Awards offer a valuable opportunity to network and receive recognition by submitting your work to various categories, as well as celebrating with course friends.


      The celebration ceremony will be an exclusive experience, where attendees will be treated to food, drinks and entertainment.


      The student organised awards aims to cater for students of all journalistic strengths and tastes, with categories covering a range of platforms and genres for them to submit to, with a chance of winning if they impress the judging panel of lecturers and journalist professionals at the top of their game.

      Submission is easy-simply go to the website and fill out the online submission form to upload your work to the category of your choice.
      You can submit to an unlimited number category but you can only submit to each category once.


      Don’t leave it too late – deadline for submissions is Midnight 31st May 2015.


      Tickets are free but limited- simply e-mail: uosjournalismawards@gmail.com and indicate how many people you would like to bring and one of the Journalism Committee Team will get back to you to confirm your attendance and then issue you with a unique invitation…but be quick it’s first come first serve!
