WATCH: Taxi convoy in Eccles in memory of Alan Henning

THE streets of Eccles were decorated in yellow ribbons as more than 200 taxi drivers formed a convoy in memory of murdered cabbie Alan Henning.

The 47-year-old taxi driver from Salford was murdered by Islamic State militants after he was captured last year while delivering aid in Syria.

Young and old lined the streets to pay their respects and applauded the convoy as it passed through Eccles town centre.

The tribute was organised by Stuart Henning, Alan Henning’s nephew and a taxi driver who “couldn’t have asked for a better uncle”.
