WATCH: Union officer outraged in hearing NHS staff use food banks

A UNION officer recently stated that she was outraged by the news that NHS staff required the help and support of food banks because their situations were so dire.

Quays News went to speak to Salford Central Food Bank to ask the staff and volunteers there if they are noticing an increase in the number of people they are helping from professional backgrounds and how they plan to cope with the busy festive period.

Food Bank co-ordinator Steve Tulloch spoke of the organisation's improved awareness regarding people from working backgrounds and also of how difficult life can be for those struggling at this time of year.

We also spoke to former NHS nurse Catherine Lomax and asked her how difficult it was to turn to the organisation for help.
