Wytnenshawe pawnbrokers donate toys for kids at Christmas

A YEAR of fundraising has ended with a nationwide toy and fund collection for children’s hospitals and charities.

Staff at H & T Pawnbrokers in Wythenshawe, have committed to helping others again this Christmas, collecting toys and funds for local children as part of a nationwide campaign, Mission Christmas.

Customers have been offered the chance to win diamond jewellery in exchange for taking part in a raffle, as well as Christmas hampers and money off vouchers. Staff held a hot chocolate and mince pie morning, asking customers to donate a small gift for a child in need.

They also held fun days with face painting, balloon twisting, fancy dress and music. Some staff members even dressed up in Christmas outfits, offering families a photo with Santa for a small donation towards the appeal.

Staff collected 147 presents in total, forwarding them to the Mission Christmas organisers ready to be distributed between the 150,000 children living in poverty across Manchester.

John Nichols, CEO of H & T Pawnbrokers said: “I am very proud of H&T staff for their enthusiasm and dedication to the gift collection and fundraising activities. As always I’m immensely grateful for our customers who so kindly donate to help out children who are in need at this time of year.”
